ECU tuning (also known as remapping or chip tuning) is the process of modifying the software inside your vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU), Transmission Control Unit (TCU), or Dosing Control Unit (DCU). By precisely adjusting parameters like fuel delivery, ignition timing, and turbo boost pressure, we can safely unlock hidden power, improve throttle response, and optimize fuel efficiency.
Tuning is performed using specialized hardware to read the original software from the vehicle’s ECU. This is most commonly done simply by plugging a tool into the OBD diagnostic port. For more complex or older ECUs, it can be done on the bench (connecting directly to ECU pins) or in boot mode (opening the ECU). Once the file is read, our engineers modify it, and you write the new optimized file back to the vehicle using the same tool.

A Mestre tool reads and writes unencrypted files, allowing you to modify the files yourself or buy them from any provider. A Escravo tool is linked to a specific Master (like ECU Remap Center) and reads encrypted files. Although technically identical to Master tools, Slave devices are significantly cheaper to purchase. Additionally, Slave users receive better conditions and discounted file pricing due to being part of our dedicated tuning network, making them perfect for workshops looking for a reliable, plug-and-play solution.
