New OBD protocol for Bosch MG1CS049 “Locked” ECU – BMW M and Alpina

KESS3 and Powergate: after the BENCH Unlock, read and write via OBD on vehicles with the S58 3.0 Bi-Turbo engine.

You can now work via OBD on protected Bosch MG1CS049 ECUs fitted to BMW M and Alpina vehicles with the S58 3.0 Bi-Turbo engine. This allows you to work on some of the most sought-after sports cars in the tuning market.

The first step requires a BENCH Unlock and applying the dedicated patch.
Once the unlock is complete, you can read and write directly through the diagnostic port without having to access the ECU again in BENCH.

Support is therefore extended to Powergate as well, Alientech’s device dedicated to the end user: you manage the files remotely, while the customer reads and writes via OBD up to 4 modified files using the device and the App.

The benefits for everyday workshop operations:

  • Access Bosch MG1CS049 ECUs via OBD after the initial BENCH Unlock
  • Work on high-performance models that are particularly sought after in the tuning market
  • Work on latest-generation locked Bosch ECUs
  • Manage the same applications through Powergate as well

A release dedicated to high-end sports cars that expands the operating possibilities of KESS3 and Powergate on one of the most sought-after BMW engines in the tuning market.
